SEO Checklist for Ecommerce Brands: November Edition

If Octobers checklist was about getting prepared, November is about making sure you’re front and centre when shoppers start their Christmas buying in earnest.

This is the month when search traffic really starts to ramp up, and by the time December hits, it’s often too late to make meaningful changes that’ll impact your rankings.

The good news? There are still plenty of quick wins you can implement right now that’ll help you capture those all-important Christmas shoppers.

As 'to-do' lists can start getting even scarier than normal at this time of year, I've decided to kept my November SEO Checklist to the 3 key tips which will make the biggest difference for the smallest amount of work.

Each tip should only take 20-30 minutes to complete, and each one taps in to the way customers will want to shop your site over the coming weeks...

  1. Last-Minute Shopper Content 🛍️
    Create pages specifically targeting procrastinators with phrases like "last minute Christmas gifts" or "gifts that arrive before Christmas". These searches skyrocket in December, so get the pages live now to give them time to rank.

  2. Update Your Homepage 🎄
    Switch your homepage to full Christmas mode if you haven't already. Search engines notice when your main page reflects current shopping trends, and festive homepage content signals that you're relevant for Christmas searches.

  3. Stocking Filler Focus 🧦
    Create dedicated "stocking filler" or "small gifts under £20" collections. This is one of the most searched terms in December, and having a well-organised page makes it easy for both shoppers and search engines to find your smaller gift items.
