SEO Checklist for Ecommerce Brands: October Edition

October is here and you don't need me to tell you it's a big month for ecom brands in terms of Christmas prep. If you've been wondering when to 'push the button' on Christmas this year, the answer is NOW!

Even if the big brands aren't quite ready to splash Christmas across their homepages, you can bet that their festive categories and products are all easy to access in their menus now, capturing those early shoppers and maximising their pre-xmas sales.

Without wanting to add too much to your already bulging to-do lists, here are 3 simple SEO tasks to set you up this October:

1) 🎄Turn ON Christmas!

Get your Christmas gift guides, festive product collections, and Black Friday landing pages published asap. Even if they're basic versions, getting them live in October gives search engines time to index them before the December rush when everyone else is scrambling.

2)  🥇 Review Last Year's Winners

Do you know which of you products sold the best last Christmas? Make sure you do, and that those pages are fully optimised with updated descriptions, great photos, and current stock information.

It's time to give your proven bestsellers VIP treatment.

3)  ✍️ Quick Description Updates

Go through your top products and add festive angles to the descriptions. Simple additions like "makes a perfect Christmas gift" or "ideal Secret Santa present" can help these products appear in seasonal searches without needing to create entirely new pages.

If you know you need to get your SEO sorted ASAP, but just don't have the capacity right now, take a look at my 'Done in 30 Days, Fully managed transformation' package, and let me take one thing off your list!
