Dust off your blog and improve your SEO with this handy trick
Calling all business owners who write regular customer newsletters, but haven’t written a new blog post in months - This SEO tip is for you!
If the above sounds familiar, and you’re diligently writing weekly newsletters while your blog is gathering dust in a dark corner of your website I have one word for you: REPURPOSE!
What do you mean?
I mean that If you're spending time and effort writing weekly updates for your email subscribers, you should ABSOLUTELY be repurposing that content into a blog post to attract NEW PEOPLE into your world.
Why?
✅ Fresh blog posts show Google that your site is active.
✅ Blogging provides an opportunity to increase keyword density, which is great for scaling the search engines.
✅ Posting new blogs regularly can help to capture a wider audience of NEW CUSTOMERS!
✅ Blog content has much longer shelf life than social post! We're talking years vs minutes!
Things to remember:
If you start taking time to re-use newsletter content as blog posts, here are the 4 simple SEO must-haves you should always include to make your post hit the spot with Google:
✨ Use target keywords in your title: If you're a luxury handbag brand, you want to be thinking "The best handbags for Spring" and not the generic "Spring 2025 trends", which could relate to ANYTHING!
✨ Use blog title as your URL: So, "The best handbags for Spring" becomes "yourwebsite.com/the-best-handbags-for-spring".
✨ Name your images after your blog: No more "image-1234.jpg", and lots more "best-spring-handbag.jpg".
✨ Use the blog title as your meta title and blog intro as your meta description: No extra brain power required, just a simple copy and paste!
And remember, if you haven't written a blog post in months: Done is better than perfect!
Good luck! I'd love to hear from you if this has inspired you to press publish on a new post.
