Your Home Page isn’t your SEO Hero - and that’s OK!

It’s easy to give a lot of attention to your homepage, imagining that it’s the main starting off point for all of your customers, and where you make your first impression.

The reality: It's not uncommon to see as little as 15% of overall visitors landing on your homepage first. With the other 85% entering your website on your category pages, product pages and blog posts first.

These are the pages that transform VISITORS into CUSTOMERS! Making THEM the real hero!

So, what does this mean?

It means that while it's great to have a well optimised homepage, this shouldn't be at the expense of neglected product and category pages, or a dusty old blog.

THESE are the pages we want to be ranking in search engines to bring in new visitors. And if customers get to your site through your homepage instead, it’s the job of the homepage to navigate customers back to these pages, pronto!

How do I do this?

Simply put, you need to be using your homepage to guide visitors deeper into your site to the pages they're most likely to purchase from.

Adding internal links to help both customers AND search engines find what matters. Think: Bestsellers, Newest launch, most searched categories.
